“THAT” Psycho Family

My internets friend Aunt Becky has brought me to tears, and that’s hard to do.  Her youngest son Alex’s 1st birthday is this Sunday, and instead of buying him gifts that she feels he doesn’t need - She’s making some wonderful and selfless donations to 2 very important non-profits.  March of Dimes and Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep in honor of the babies that aren’t able to make it to Alex’s birthday party because they died to soon.

Giving to these 2 charities touches my heart because I have had a child die too soon.  I’ve talked about Sarah some here and knowing that my friend Becky is giving these tributes touches my heart.  She’s challenged her internets friends to pass the love on, and I’m doing just that.  Even $5.00 helps.  I’m forgoing my Weekly Starbuck$ to help pass it on.

Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep helps create memories by having photographers volunteer their time to take pictures of babies and gives a CD and the copyrights of the pictures to the parents of babies that have died or are dying.  Their work is beautiful and touches even my ickle balck heart.  What I would have given for someone to come in and take some wonderful pictures of Sarah for me to keep forever to help me “create a lifetime of memories,” in only hours…..I can’t tell you how much this would have meant to me.

March of Dimes is to help educate people about premature births, and to help those that are born premature to “survive and thrive.”  Their annual March for Babies is going NOW in your area.  Even if you can’t walk, you can help by making a small donation.

Lord knows that I’m not a salesperson, and I hate begging for money.  But both of these charities are close to my heart, so I’m coming to you, my friends, to ask you to help others that might find themselves in the position that I was almost 17 years ago.  If you can’t donate or aren’t inclined to, then here’s my challenge to you….DO SOMETHING NICE FOR SOMEONE THIS WEEK.  Practice a random act of kindness.  Then share it with me, because I love when we spread the love!  Because these children might only be here for a short time on this Earth, but they leave their footprints on your heart forever.
